Renewable Electricity 100%

RE100 is a global initiative uniting leading companies committed to sourcing 100% renewable electricity for their operations before 2050.

RE100 is led by Climate Group in partnership with CDP. As their Korea partner, KoSIF supports Korean companies in joining RE100 and implementing their renewable electricity targets. We also work with companies, financial institutions, policymakers, and other stakeholders to improve the renewable electricity procurement environment in Korea.

Renewable Electricity Transition

Renewable electricity is becoming a business imperative.

Managing greenhouse gas emissions across supply chains is becoming increasingly important. Many Korean companies in key manufacturing sectors, including semiconductors and batteries, are facing growing demands from global customers to expand their use of renewable electricity.

At the same time, financial institutions are strengthening climate risk policies, and global investors are increasing pressure on companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition to renewable electricity. Since SK Group companies first joined RE100 in 2020, participation among Korean companies has grown rapidly. As of March 2026, 36 Korean companies have joined RE100 and are working toward their renewable electricity transition.

In Korea, however, companies still face challenges in procuring renewable electricity at scale. Through RE100, KoSIF connects global renewable electricity standards with Korean market practice and contributes to broader discussions on renewable electricity procurement and market development.
